Well & Sprinkler Pumps

How a well pump system works

A shallow well system has four main parts: the well, a jet pump, a pressure tank and the piping between them.

The pump pulls water from the well and pushes it into the tank, where trapped air holds the pressure steady.

A pressure switch starts the pump when pressure drops and stops it when pressure reaches the set point.

A gauge shows what the system is doing at any moment.

When one part wears out, the others work harder, so a small problem can turn into a failed pump.

We look at the whole system, find each issue and fix them in order, instead of swapping parts and hoping.

What it covers

Well & Sprinkler Pumps, covered end to end.

  1. 01

    Jet pump repair

Pumps that hum, trip the breaker or lose prime. We find the cause, then repair or replace the pump.

  2. 02

    Pressure tanks

A waterlogged tank makes the pump cycle on and off. We check the tank and replace it when it has failed.

  3. 03

    Switches and gauges

A bad switch or gauge means false readings and poor cycling. We test them and replace what is worn.

  4. 04

    PVC piping

Cracked or leaking PVC between well, pump and tank is repaired, or redone in full when the whole run is worn.

  5. 05

    Sprinkler pumps

Pumps that feed sprinkler zones: weak pressure, no pressure, or a pump that never shuts off.

  6. 06

    Wells for house or lawn

Some homes run a shallow well for the house, others only for the sprinklers. We work on both.

The honest answer

Signs the system needs attention

A pump system usually gives warning before it quits.

These are the signs to watch for.

The pump cycles on and off in short bursts, or runs without ever building pressure.

It hums but does not start, or it trips the breaker every time it tries.

Water spits air, the sprinklers come on weak, or the gauge needle swings up and down.

Some of these point to a waterlogged tank, others to a bad switch, a leak or a worn pump.

We sort out which.

Wells in South Florida yards

Plenty of South Florida homes run a shallow well for the sprinklers, and some use one for the house too.

Shallow wells here draw from water not far below the surface, through limestone ground.

Hard, mineral-heavy water can build scale in fittings and wear on a pump over time.

The pump and tank usually sit outside beside the house, where sun, heavy summer rain and salt air work on them.

Weathered PVC and worn switches are common reasons a system stops holding pressure.

Excellent service! I called and this wonderful gentleman was here in 30 minutes on a Saturday. He stayed until he ensured my well was working again after fixing each issue. I'd give him 10 stars if I could! Highly recommended.
